During your implant procedure, your implant dentist will extract any remaining hopeless teeth and place your dental implants. Then they will evaluate your implants for stability. If your implants are stable enough (they usually are) the surgeon wiill place a provisional restoration–replacement teeth that look good and can function as normal, but aren’t designed for long-term use.

Over the next four to six months, your implants will heal, integrating with your jawbone. During this time, you can evaluate your provisional restoration and think about what you might change when it’s time for your definitive restoration.
